Artwork highlighted here is titled, New Moon, from my Look Me In The Eyes series. The figure was inspired by the figure herself, representing the power of relationships between women over time, her form is set in profile, giving homage to women in history depicted from the fifteenth century for the use of bridal portraits. The new moon carves out the left hand side of the canvas with a repeating symmetrical half circle on the opposing side. New moon rituals of manifesting what’s to come lay in the power of the figure herself as she is embodied by coral oceanic forms below her and winged creatures symbolizing her connection to her own freedom.
